The Erica 3 hour mountain bike enduro returned to Erica on the 21st of November to stage the final round of the Gippsland MTB series for 2015. Although the turnout was small, the sixteen competitors that did enter had a blast and everyone was seen smiling throughout the day. Featuring new trail through the Gumtree Plantation at Mill Park, and less climbing compared to previous years, the 5.3 kilometre course still provided a challenge to the competitors.
Leading the race throughout the day was Craig Borham, who successfully completed eleven laps of the course within the three hour time limit. Craig finished by winning both the outright and solo male categories. Taking second place was Erica MTB Park volunteer, Trevor Nicklen with ten laps followed by Samuel Frankland. Leading the women’s category was Dora Bettridge, followed Lauren Fox in Second and Jacinta Nelsson.
After the event, riders were treated to 1914 Café & Bar’s fantastic finger food where the club presentations were held, to finish off a perfect days ride.
