Pete's Track Sprint: 29-May-2016

25 Apr 2016 by Graeme Trewern

It’s on again! The annual grudge match between the DH fraternity and the Cross Country riders.

Staged in some of the most magnificent country in the Avon Hedrick reserve, the race consists of a track that is neither purely Downhill focused and is not an uphill lung buster, perfect for all riders. There is a shuttle to take you back to the top and rest the legs for the next run down the track. All difficult sections have easily accessed ‘B’ lines.

The race format will be similar to a DH event – practice runs and shuttles will be available for riders once registered until the rider briefing. Riders will get two race runs with only their fastest time counting towards their final standing. There will also be a special prize for the most consistent times over the two race runs.

The event is open to both members and non-club members for solo entries in Male, Female and Junior categories. It is suitable for riders of all abilities and a great way to get involved surrounded by a friendly atmosphere.

Due to the added complexity of staging a sprint race as opposed to a multi-lap XC enduro, online pre-registration will be the only entry method. If you are unable to pre-register, or have any other questions, please contact events@gippslandmtb.com.au. Unfortunately, entries on the day will not be accepted. The event registration will close at 8pm on Saturday, 28 May and rider numbers will be capped at 100. To avoid disappointment, get in early as this is another one not to be missed!
